Do you use grant money to facilitate Scientists who want to start businesses?

No, these are undergraduate programs. So it would be funneled through exposing undergraduates to these Scientists by bringing the Scientists into the Universities in order to create more intereste in these fields. Stem cell research is a good pivot for this.

Is the step program to take the place of the REUI grants which support research for undergraduates.

NO.

STEP program is to expand the STEM workforce through funding educational instituitions that participate in these groups.
