How to improve the Tech Transfer Process

As soon as a product is released from IP, it becomes an accepted commodity. We need to become much better at capitlizing on this process.

Tech Transfer is the last, and most difficult, step in the commercilization process. How do you bring a science-tech to a public market?

How do you interface Tech with Industry?

There is a need for Tech Providers and Industry Needs to be connected. A software/IT solution was mentioned.

NCCU Ph. D program - in the works.

Will there be business training built-in to these programs? To ease transition from academia to corporate settings.

Yes, a series of seminars that guide the students through the transition and prepare them for the business setting.

Developing hybrid degree programs - that include business/integration/IP/regulatory processes. Students would come in with a science background and leave ready for real world implementations.

Online programs will help.

Small shop manufacturers are a large part of these markets ; how do you keep those workers up to date? Their companies are not rich enough and can't afford to let employees spend time away from work; for this.
